WMLogout for Windows! ============ Version 1.4 Overview -------- WMLogout is the Windows version of MLogout. WMLogout was written to be run in the Windows 3.0 environment, in Standard and Enhansed modes. WMLogout will monitor keyboard and mouse activity, if a period of time elapses with no activity then WMLogout will take control and execute the user define logout process, or the internal logout feature. WMLogout will execute a batch file called LOGOFF.BAT, which the user can customize to their own environment. This was found to be the best solution as some companies perform other functions during a logout (such as task accounting systems like MTASKLOG). LOGOFF.BAT MUST be located in one of the following areas for it to execute: * Directory with WMLOGOUT.EXE * Window's SYSTEM directory * Window's directory * In a directory contained in the DOS PATH * In a directory that is MAPped to by Novell Usually, the last statement in the .BAT file will be the LOGOUT command. This command will flush all buffers, close all open files, and log the user out of the network. A message will appear alerting the user to the logout. Future releases of WMLogout are planned with the following features: * Specification of file to run Installation ------------ To install WMLogout run B:INSTALL from the File/Run menu in Program Manager. The installation program will copy all files into a specified directory, and then create a WMLogout Group with WMLOGOUT and the Read Me file in it. The files for WMLOGOUT must be located in one of the following areas: * Windows SYSTEM directory * Windows directory * PUBLIC directory on Network (user must be mapped to directory) * Users DOS directory (must be specified in users PATH statement) You may install WMLogout on a server or on individual workstations. You may also run WMLOGOUT.EXE directly from the File/Run process. Changing Configuration ---------------------- A file is checked when WMLOGOUT is started. This file is WMLOGOUT.INI. WMLOGOUT looks for this file in the WINDOWS directory.
