New Features in version 3.3 --------------------------- SuperVGA Support HyperReader 3.03 now has extensive support for SuperVGA images supporting images of 640x480x256 colors with support for over 17 different chip sets. To use SuperVGA images in HyperWriter 3.03, the supplied SVCONFIG program must first be run. This program displays a list of supported SuperVGA chip sets for you to select from. After selecting the desired chip set, all the .INI files in the current directory for HyperReader are modified to indicate what chip set is installed in the system. SVCONFIG is the configuration program for choosing what SuperVGA chipset is presently in your machine. This program can be freely distributed with your HyperWriter applications just as you distribute HyperReader. If your applications use SuperVGA images, your users will have to run SVCONFIG before running HyperReader. Auto Select 1st Button Option in HyperReader A new option in HyperReader, Auto Select 1st Button, automatically selects the first button or link in the current topic. This allows significantly easier navigation in HyperReader. To use this option, select the General options dialog box from the Options menu and then select the "Auto Select 1st Button" option with TAB and SPACEBAR. Keep Paths with Filenames An option to HyperReader, Use Paths with Linked Files, has been added to HyperReader. This option, acessed from the General command on the Options menu, instructs HyperReader whether or not to use stored pathnames when retrieving documents. Hourglass on Access An hourglass has been added to HyperReaders' mouse pointer. This hourglass is automatically displayed when accessing a topic takes a significant amount of time (i.e. longer than 1/2 second). This prevents confusion regarding delays due to file or network access. Real Sound and Network Drivers Due to network incompatibilities, Real Sound support (audio through the PC's speaker) has been automatically turned off if network driver software is discovered. This prevents possibile network incompatibilities. CTRL+PG UP and CTRL+PG DN The Control Page Up and Control Page Down keystrokes have been added to HyperReaderr to move to the beginning and end of the presently displayed screen.
