======================================================================= MR/2 END-USER AND INTERESTED-PARTY QUESTIONAIRE ======================================================================= I'd appreciate any feedback from users, or anyone else that would like to donate some time. I've provided a list of questions to answer; pick the ones that you feel are important and hammer away :) Any other comments are always welcome and will be greatly appreciated. These questions pertain specifically to MR/2 - if you are not familiar with MR/2, then respond as if you were answering questions about your current mail reader. Are you using MR/2? If not, what mail reader are you using? Are there any things that you dislike about MR/2 (like my color scheme :)? Please rate (1-9, 1=important -> 9-not), or just check off the areas that are most important to you in a mail reader. If something doesn't matter to you at all, feel free to just leave it blank: [ ] mouse support [ ] funny taglines (auto-rotating from a file, stealing them ...) [ ] ANSI colors/animation [ ] "bookmark" feature to track where you leave off, % read, etc.,. [ ] sophisticated searching [ ] automatically performed "canned" searches [ ] sorting mail packets by name/size [ ] sorting the message index various ways [ ] reading by thread (subject order) [ ] Adding/Dropping conferences via reader messages [ ] sophisticated quoting in reader-created reply files [ ] forwarding messages [ ] carbon copies (same message, multiple users/conferences) [ ] creating a message for a BBS w/o an existing packet [ ] twit filters [ ] access to the OS/2 command line [ ] more color control [ ] Netmail helpers (user->node lookup?) [ ] Internationalization (languages and/or European date formats) Are there items I haven't listed that you feel are important? Given a choice (with both being relatively equal in features) - would you prefer a character-mode reader or a PM based version? What is the best mail reader you've ever used (er...not including MR/2 :) I have an idea that would require the use of extended attributes on the drive(s) that hold mail packets and reply files. This would create an "EA DATA.SF" file on any FAT drives. Would this bother you (to the point where you might not use this feature?) Any ideas on how else to effectively use multithreading? I got a couple good ones, but I'd like to hear more. Where might long file name support be beneficial? General comments, gripes or praise? What editor do you use for replying to messages? Where did you get your copy of MR/2? (BBS name and/or phone number) RESPONDING ========== Thank you for your time and effort. Please either print out this survey with answers and US-Mail it to me, or put the whole thing in a Netmail message and send it to Fidonet node 157/2. You can optionally post it on Nerd's Nook, but that's asking alot :) US Mail: Nick Knight 1823 David Ave. Parma, Ohio 44134 Fido netmail: 1:157/2 to "Nick Knight" Direct BBS: Leave a message on the Nerd's Nook BBS (1:157/2) at (216) 356-1772, 356-1872 or 356-1431.
