Mah Jongg Tile Set Description Tile Set Name: ORCHID.TIL Subject: Orchids Created by: Linda Johnson, Bethlehem, PA Description: Having been bitten by the "orchid bug" I thought they would be a beautiful subject for a set of Mah Jongg tiles. Alot of the orchids depicted are in my collection or the collections of friends. If the tile was designed from an actual plant the full name is given, if only the genus name appears the tile is a representation of a hybrid. By the way, I grow my orchids on my windowsills or under lights. Most do not require a greenhouse, just some common sense. If these tiles intrigue you, check with your public library for books on orchids, contact your local orchid society, go to orchid shows or write to: American Orchid Society 6000 South Olive Avenue West Palm Beach, FL 33405 Tiles: 407-585-8666 1) Miltonia 2) Phalaenopsis 3) Paphiopedilum 4) Phalaenopsis 5) Masdevallia 6) Miltonia 7) Cattleya 8) Paphiopedilum bellatulum 9) Vanda coerulea 10) Dendrochilum 11) Dracula chimaera 12) Disa uniflora 13) Aerides multiflorum 14) Angraecum eburneum 15) Laelia lobata 16) Oncidiums 17) Cymbidium hookerianum 18) Epidendrum pseudepidendrum 19) Cymbidium 20) Vanda sanderiana 21) Arachnis flos-aeris 22) Cattleya 23) Sophronitis coccinea 24) Brassavola nodosa 25) Paphiopedilum barbatum 26) Vanilla planiforlia (Yes, this is the source of the vanilla "bean") 27) Habenaria rhodocheila 28) Encyclia cochleata 29) Paphiopedilum (side view) 30) Calanthe rosea 31) Denbrobium densiflorum 32) Cattleya aclandiae 33) Cattleya dowiana 34) Brassia verrucosa 1st Set of Wildcards (These are awards given by the American Orchid Society) 35) AM/AOS 36) FCC/AOS 37) HCC/AOS 38) CCM/AOS 2nd Set of Wildcards 39) American Orchid Society 40) Lehigh Valley Orchid Society (my home society) 41) Eastern Orchid Conference 42) World Orchid Conference I hope you enjoy playing with these tiles as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
