Alternate Tile Set for Mah Jongg ver. 3.3 Tile Set Name: QUILT.TIL Subject: Quilt Blocks Created by: Rita Galaska I too have designed MahJongg tiles purely for enjoyment and with no intention of making money from them, therefore have not attempted to give credit or show origin. I believe most of the block patterns have been in existence so long that the origins are lost. It was impossible to be exactly symmetrical with the rectangular building blocks, but I think it is close enough to give a believable rendition. Once I came up with the idea of quilts, I became as addicted to Tilemaker as I am to MahJongg. The suites have been directly substituted with other suites as follows: Baltimore Album (replaces suit of dots). These are samples of the type of blocks found in the famous Baltimore Album quilts in the 1880's. They do not generally have seperate names. 1 - 9) Album Traditional blocks on white (replaces suit of bamboo). 11) Jack in the Pulpit 14) LeMoyne Star 17) Flying Dutchman 12) Fort Sumter 15) Economy 18) Anvil 13) Churn Dash 16) Card Tricks 19) Windmill Traditional Blocks on blue (replaces suit of characters). 21) Log Cabin 24) Double T 27) Storm Signal 22) Weather Vane 25) Bow Tie 28) Dominos 23) Boxes 26) Ohio Star 29) Cross and Crown Examples of Applique (replaces suit of dragons). 10) Ohio Rose 20) Teddy Bear 30) Sunbonnet Sue Other methods (replaces suit of winds). 31) Celtic 33) Crazy Quilt 32) Stained Glass 34) Mandala Wild Cards - whole quilt - shows the way patterns may be varied on a whole quilt top by changing the directions in which shaded blocks are placed: 35 - 38) Log Cabins (replaces seasons) 39 - 42) Amish Shadow (replaces flowers) I hope this gives someone lots of enjoyment, as well as a new appreciation of the art of quilting.
