CDPLAYER - EVALUATION COPY The program on this disk is version 1.1 of our new DOS audio CD Player program. It provides complete control over the playing of audio CDs and the ability to catalogue your collection and browse through it. **************************************************************************** Upgrade notice ************** Take a backup of your data fiels before upgrading! Version 1.1 contains increased field lengths for track titles. If you have created a database using ver 1.0, you will have to run the upgrade program to adjust the field sizes. To do this, load 1.1, switch to the directory containing your data and run the program UPGRADE.EXE. E.g. C: CD \CDPLAYER UPGRADE Follow the instructions on the screen and your files will be updated. Note that your old files will not be deleted, but renamed to DISCSV1.*. If you do not have your data stored in the same directory as the programs, switch to the data directory and call the upgrade program from the floppy drive, e.g., C: CD \DATADIR A:UPGRADE ****************************************************************************** We are hopeful that users will provide feedback regarding the program and any additional features they would like to see. The enhancements being considered for revision 2 are as follows: A free text notepad attached to each record - allowing you to record notes regarding the recording. Printing - allowing the printing of your catalogue. In particular, we would be interested in the reports you would like to have printed. Revision 2 will be produced if we receive registrations and hence know that the program is being used. All those who register, and receive a registered version of revision 1, will be sent a registered version of revision 2 when it is released. ************************************************************************** MEMORY RESIDENT CD PLAYER Registered users will an receive an unrestricted copy of CDtsr, a memory resident CD player. This program allows DOS users, who are running text based programs, to pop up a CD handset similar to that contained in CDPlayer. This is very handy for pausing the CD to take a phone call, carrying on with your current application and then resuming play by popping up the handset a second time. Also for playing a new CD without having to close down your current application. A demonstration copy of CDTsr is included on this disk. Some of the functions have been deactivated, however, it will enable you to see how it will work with your applications. ************************************************************************** We are also considering producing a shareware record/tape/CD database program. Please let us know if this would be of interest to you. INSTALLATION To install CDPlayer, create a directory on your hard disk called CDPLAYER and copy CDPLAYER.EXE and CDTSR.EXE to it.
