Symantec/Peter Norton Computing Symantec Corporation is introducing several new software products that are not only compatible with MS-DOS 6, but also provide additional features that add value to the functionality of MS-DOS 6. The new products, all of which are available are: new versions of The Norton Utilities, with enhanced data recovery for MS-DOS 6; The Norton Backup (a subset of which is included in MS- DOS 6); and The Norton Desktop for Windows, which increases productivity for users of Windows and supports Windows for Workgroups. The Norton Utilities' support for MS-DOS 6 uniquely provides data recovery, protection and optimization of compressed data and completely supports the new MS-DOS 6 memory manager and the compressed drive format. Its SpeedDisk feature lets users defragment files on MS-DOS 6 compressed drives, and its Norton Disk Doctor feature recovers and automatically repairs data from damaged MS-DOS 6 compressed files, including files up to two gigabytes in size. PC-Kwik Corporation PC-Kwik Corporation today announced new versions of its MS-DOS performance utilities, PC-Kwik Power Pak version 3.1 and Super PC-Kwik 5.1. All the PC- Kwik Power Pak accelerators, including Super PC-Kwik, the award- winning disk cache, work seamlessly with the new Microsoft MS-DOS 6 data protection tools. The new versions of PC-Kwik Power Pak and Super PC-Kwik will ship in mid-May. They also feature CD-ROM support for the Super PC-Kwik disk cache.
