Operation Checkmate

New German fighters of a push-pull 
design have been showing up against
the U.S. bomber streams. They are 
being delivered via the railroad 
that passes through Kassel to the
nearby Luftwaffe airfields. 

Only small numbers of this new 
twin-engine German fighter have been
encountered so far. In an attempt to
to stem the tide of this new threat
Bomber Command has decided to raid
the Kassel railyards and put them
out of action making delivery of 
this new fighter more difficult.
