COURSE: Wildwood Golf Club DESIGN: Art Steiger, 3/93 WILDWOOD GOLF CLUB Located in a mountain setting, interspersed with lakes, streams, and numerous pine trees, Wildwood welcomes you as its newest member! The management hopes you will enjoy your rounds on the course, and wishes you good luck with its more difficult holes. There is a pair of "monster" par 3's, a long par 5, and a brutal-looking number 2 hole that, given appropriate care, isn't as difficult as appearances may suggest. The background (minus a little editing and rearranging) came from Jim Blankenship's fine GLENWOOD SPRINGS. The objects were gleaned from several sources: Most came from Gene Rodriguez III's GR3OBJ01.ZIP and GR3OBJ02.ZIP files which were downloaded from the Accolade BBS; other objects came from the JNUG "Clip Art" collection, and were spruced up for a better VGA rendering; the remaining objects are original. You will probably find your iron shots to be the most challenging aspect of your game. The fairways are, in general, large, forgiving, and--for the most part--free of fatal hazards. The greens, while often on the diminutive side, play fairly easily. Though there is an abundance of water on the Wildwood course, it seldom poses a legitimate threat to your game. Sand, on the other hand, can add unwanted strokes if your shots are not well-thought out. I hope you enjoy your rounds on this course, and I'd welcome any comments you may have regarding it.
