GALACTICOMM INTRODUCES MAJOR GATEWAY/INTERNET FOR MAJOR BBS ----------------------------------------------------------- Galacticomm, Inc. announced the February 8 release of Major Gateway/Internet a new add-on option for the company's flagship product, The Major BBS. Major Gateway for Internet offers users of The Major BBS the ability to send and receive Internet E-mail and Usenet NewsGroup messages. Major Gateway/Internet can run either on the same machine as the BBS or a separate PC used for mail. On a separate machine, e-mail and newsgroup messages can be sent and received in real-time. If run on the BBS machine, the BBS must be taken down on a timed event to process mail. Major Gateway/Internet receives messages from the BBS either directly or via MHS, and queues the messages and prepares them for transfer. Then, using UULINK software from Vortex Technologies, it dials out and connects to any UUCP host to transfer the outbound mail and receive incoming mail. "The Internet is the most pervasive message network on the face of the earth right now," says Scott Brinker, Vice President of Galacticomm. "The Major Gateway for Internet provides a convenient and affordable way for the thousands of Major BBS Sysops to offer their users access to the most popular Internet services." Major Gateway/Internet is available for $199 directly from Galacticomm.
