THE WINDOWS UNINSTALLER When you want to get rid of Microsoft Windows applications and all of its scattered .INI files, icons, dynamic link libraries, and miscellaneous directories, the most thorough program you can use is MicroHelp's $79.00 The UnInstaller. This utility deletes Windows programs safely and efficiently and then scours WIN.INI and other files to remove all traces of the deleted program. Its smart enough not to eliminate any files associated with the deleted program that other programs might need. When you first run The UnInstaller, it optionally builds a database of links between applications and their initialization files and DLL's.When you select an applications for the program to uninstall, it displays an elaborate list of options, including the names of files connected with unwanted applications. Files that can be safely removed are already selected, but files that probably should remain on your disk are flagged. One thing the program does not offer is speed, and its graphic progress indicator sometimes seems to slow to a halt, even when removing the simplest application.
