USR Dual standard modems will support V32, the newer ones V32bis.

If  the USR is a plain HST then the fastest connect will be  2400

as the HST 9600 is proprietary protocol. Even when calling a Dual

you  may  often need to use one of the dial prfeixes  to  'force'

a connect at 9600 or higher.
