Tiny Toons from Konami: You just can't beat Konami quality. This is a great Mario/Sonic type platform game. Bright and colorful graphics, great animations on the characters, and nice music. The gameplay is simple, but still lots of fun. There are a large variety of levels. I can't believe how they squeezed so much awesome graphics into just 4 megs. My only complaint is that listening to the Tiny Toons theme over and over is driving me looney...:) Tyrants: Those dying for a good strategy game fix should check out this game. The idea is similar to Populous: you are a God trying to conquer different lands by controlling your people. Everything happens in real time and you have to think fast and plan quickly. The main idea is to devote resources to researching new weapons, mining resources to build the weapons, and using the weapons and men to attack or defend. The game mechanics are pretty simple but the there is still a lot of strategy involved. Nice use of digitized voices. Graphics are not spectacular but good enough. Using a joystick to select among the menu choices is kind of awkward at first but I got used to it quickly. It's very addicting too, the mark of a good strategy game. Monopoly: Very nice translation of the board game. All the banking and other hassles are taken care by the computer and you can enjoy the game more. You can play against several computer or human opponents. The graphics are pretty neat: for example when you pick up one of those "Chance" cards there is an animated illustration of the card. It's good to see some better Genesis games coming out after seeing trash like Revenge of the Joker... Other new games I haven't gotten a chance to try yet: Clue, Jeopardy, Hit the Ice, Double Dragon 3, and Battletoads... anyone else tried them? Actually since last December there has just been a flood of new Genesis titles and there's too many to keep track of. I'm sure that many good games have been overlooked in the crowd... -Teh Kao
