Picked it up yesterday and played 2 scenarios. The game has elements of Military Madness in it. (I LOVE Military Madness) However, it is less solid strategy as Mil Mad. (I miss the surround effect and support effect) Yet, the game has it's strong points. As mentioned before, there are intermissions to give the game more of a RPG feel. If you need to replay a scenario (ie you lost), it gets tiring, but that's nothing major. BGM? It's a wargame...who cares about the BGM...but if you do care, it's not bad...similar to the way military madness had music...when it's your turn there's your music, then enemys music on his turn. The only problem/strange thing is that the leaders (commanders) are very powerful. It seems that experienced commanders are very key (not to mention experienced soldiers). Terrain does have some effect also. (but boy do I miss surround effect). I also have some misgivings about using squares for movement instead of hexes. One final word of comment will be, yes, the graphics are very good. On the other hand, your pieces have Hit point information on them, and on my tv, it's sometimes hard to distinguish some numbers. Overall, if you like strategy games...especially Military Madness, it's worth checking out. Don't be fooled, this game has no real RPG quality...it's solid strategy...so if you don't like strategy, stay away. I don't like to give number grades to games cause it's so subjective, so I won't (plus I haven't played it enough). Is it worth 55 dollars? Is any game? (well, maybe Mil Mad) Probably not, unless you have been starving for strategy games (like me). If whether I'm going to keep it is any indication of how good it is, yes, I will keep the game. P.S. Anyone have anything to say about Beast Wrestler or Rolling Thunder or Task Force Harrier EX?
