Mah Jongg Tile Set Description This File : BRIGHT.TXT Tile Set Name : BRIGHT.TIL Subject : Dithered base tiles beyond IBM's 16 Date : April 20, 1993 Created by : Tom Boothby 2202 SE Tenino Portland, OR 97202 (503) 238 1443 Description:I started by coloring ten tiles in one of the IBM pallette of 16 colors. Then at random I replaced 100 of the pixels with one of the other 15 colors and increasing by 100 each tile to the right until I had changed from the first to the second color. The 100 in each increase may not be exact, but it is enough to show what I wanted to do: have some interesting colors beyond IBM's 16. I selected one tile from many different sets to make up this set and I chose colors that were not too muggy, hence, the name BRIGHT. They are not the only bright nor are they the brightest. They just happen to be the ones I selected. I was a quite capricious in my selection. Of course a 256 pallete is better. I do not happen to have that nor do my future plans call for that upgrade to my 386SX system. The job was a big one greatly simplified by the introduction of the block replacement key in Nels's TILEMAKR. I now have approximately 80 sets of tiles which are only these combinations. I suppose they all could be played, but that is not why I spent the time necessary to do the job. Other sets are more fun to play! If you like what you see here, use it. I would like to hear from you even if you don't think much of the set. I will appreciate your feed-back. Feel free to give this to anyone who wants a copy and to share any of your work with me. I have close to 100 sets including many of my own and not counting the above 80 or so sets. Thank you Nels Anderson
