THE ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE PC	

You'll probably be seeing a lot of green on your PC in the year to come.
This is mainly because companies have teamed up to embrace the Environmental
Protection Agency's Energy Star conservation program.

Unlike many companies that are content merely to follow the EPA's low wattage
guidelines, IBM is taking a more fundamental approach in its Energy 
Workstation.  Not only does the protype exceed the EPA spec, but it also takes
user ergonomics and plastic waste disposal into account.

From what I've read the display is an active matrix flat panel LCD that can
stand free or hang off your office wall.  Combine this with an extra small
CPU (which is designed for recycling) and you've freed up a significant
amount of desk space while reducing the amount of potentially harmful 
radiation.

The system also includes four credit card PCMCIA slots.  This looks like the
way everything will be leaning towards.  These cards are expected to reach
the 32 bit arena.

You'll want to pay close attention to the green label next time your at the
computer store.  They will save you money along with helping the environment.
