Product Overview WordPerfect is one of the market leaders for word processing software. Installation and operation over the LANtastic Network Operating System is directly supported in WordPerfect version 5.1 and above. Product Installation Notes WordPerfect (DOS) v5.1 Installation is achieved via WordPerfect's INSTALL routine, invoked from the Install/Learn/Utilities 1 diskette. During the installation, the program will present a list of possible networks. At this screen, one of the choices displayed is: 8 - LANtastic Choose this option and WordPerfect will install correctly for use with the Network Operating System. Refer to Appendix R of the WordPerfect Reference manual on details about Network Administration in a DOS environment. WordPerfect for Windows v5.2 Run INSTALL on the Install/Program 1 diskette from within Windows. Since the drive letter of your WordPerfect server is hard-coded in the icon properties, you may want to use the same drive letter on all workstations. As for all Windows applications, remember to avoid self-redirections on a LANtastic server running Windows. Self-redirections are 'NET USE' commands looping back to the local machine, e.g. if you issue the following command on machine , you are doing a loopback: NET USE W: \\\C-DRIVE Loopbacks can be avoided by invoking the installation from a workstation, or using the DOS SUBST command instead on the server.
