This archive contains a port of gawk (GNU awk) 2.15 to DOS. A companion archive for OS/2 1.x--2.x will be available on ftp-os2.cdrom.com. Kai Uwe Rommel's EMX/gcc port (for OS/2 2.x) was the starting point. Rommel's port is currently at ftp-os2.cdrom.com:pub/os2/2_x/unix/gnu/gnuawk.zip Files: ./ gawk.exe DOS executable gawk.man man-page ("groff -man gawk.1 > gawk.man") readme.txt this file GAWK.PS 200 page manual v0.15 April 1993 converted from gawk.texinfo > .dvi > postscript. Notes: 1. The stdargv and globbing routines from Ian Stewartson's sh have been used. This provides enhanced argument passing. Other compile options, including a bound OS/2 and DOS version, can be found in makefile.os2. 2. Some changes were required for MSC, and one buglet was discovered by the "test" suite (see the patches2.os2 file and the changes to main.c). 3. dmake required some minor changes to test/Makefile. gawk passed "bigtest". 4. Thanks to GNU, FSF, Rommel, and Stewartson. --Darrel Hankerson hankedr@mail.auburn.edu 24 July 1993
