  FarPoint Communications is injecting more into high speed
  bidirectional paralled ports with a mulitple port extension that
  works with most of the standards out there.  IEEE 1284- Compliant
  Extended Capabilities Ports, Enhanced Parallel Ports, and IBM
  ExpressPrint Ports.

  This box allows you to have 4 Peripherals to the existing 1
  Parallel Port on your computer.  It also has the ability to
  connect devices to your PC from up to 30 Feet away.  It only
  measures 4 by 6 inches standing, and its a great companion for
  notebook users.  There are LEDs that light up to confirm that the
  port is in use and it should be available through most computer
  superstores.

  I saw this product in demonstration and it worked very well. The
  list price was a little high, costing around $400.00.
