PC TIME STANDARD Version 2.01 Thanks for trying PC TIME STANDARD. This is a shareware program, and we hope you'll register your copy if you continue to use the program. Please read the program documentation file, PCTIME.DOC, for more detailed information on the operation of PC TIME STANDARD. PCTIME.DOC may be printed on most printers. PC TIME STANDARD offers a fast and easy way to set and adjust your clock to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) atomic time standard. Integrated into one easy to use program, key PC TIME STANDARD features include automatic compensation of average clock drift, automatic daylight savings and leap second adjustment, an event recorder, a complete log file of the update history with a graphical display, scheduled updates, NIST synchronized pulse output, timing measurements at 1 millisecond resolutions, and top level menu display of key clock statistics. May be run from your autoexec.bat file for automatic update and adjustment at power-up. Requires a '286 or better personal computer and a 1200 baud modem. INSTALLATION Copy the contents of this distribution disk to a subdirectory on your hard drive or onto a floppy disk. Move to that subdirectory and run the pctime.exe program. Use the CONFIGURE function from the main menu to select the serial port to which your modem is connected, and to change any of the default configuration settings. You can now use the SET TIME function to set your PC's clock to the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Atomic Cesium Standard. If you wish to automatically run PC TIME STANDARD every time you turn on your computer, add the following line to the end of your autoexec.bat file: c:\pctime\pctime /autoadjust /autoset PC TIME STANDARD will now automatically adjust and set your PC's clock every time you power up. The /autoset schedule (daily, weekly, semimonthly, monthly, variable) is set by the CONFIGURATION function at the main menu.
