It is very important that you do not watch your hands. You will keep your eyes on the keyboard monitor for the first few lessons. On the keyboard monitor the keys will be different colors. The different colors represent the finger with which the key will be struck. The double line down the center of the board divides the left hand from the right hand. Did you notice that some keys were white? These white keys are referred to as the home row. You always begin from the home row position. When your fingers are on the white keys, the left hand is on A, S, D, F, and the right hand is on J, K, L, and Semicolon. You have two vacant keys between your hands.
