1 15 oz can tomato puree
1 14 1/2 oz can whole tomatoes drain & chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 garlic clove minced
1/2 tsp basil
1/4  tsp tarragon
1/4 tsp oregano

Combine all ingredients in large skillet
Heat to boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer 10 min.
Cool.
Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
Can be prepared 3 days in advance, cover and refrigerate.
