My mom always made GREAT, NEVER FAIL noodles.
Here is her tip:

Bring water to a rolling boil.
Add Noodles.
Bring water BACK to a rolling boil.
Stick the lid on.
Take the noodles OFF the burner.
Set the timer for 20 minutes.
Voil…!  Perfect noodles every time!
