Vulcan Strawberry Toast

1 quart fresh strawberries
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine
10 slices of wheat bread

Any type of bread you prefer can be used.  Chill a small bowl and a beater.
Hull and wash the berries, and drain thoroughly.  Mash the berries with a
fork,a few at a time, in a small bowl.  Now whip the cream in the chilled
bowl with the sugar.  Fold in the mashed berries.  Heat a large skillet and
melt about 1 tablespoon of margarine in it.  when the margarine is foamy,
add a couple slices of bread and brown lightly on both sides.  Top the
fried bread with a couple of large spoonfuls of the berry mixture.  Spread
rather repeat....until you have used all the berry mixture, adding more
margarine as needed.  If you wish you can toast the bread in a toaster,
then butter it and then top with the berry mixture.  Be careful the
toast doesn't get to dark.  This also can be served at breakfast.
