Oink, oink....Yes, simmer them in broth for  about six hours.  Add some sort
of spices like  basil, oregano, lots of chili powder, maybe some Old Bay.  I
usually use them for making stock but some folks actually eat them in the
pickled form.   I'd much rather have a thick slice of ham instead.
