 Snickerdoodles

 1 cup margarine
 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
 3/4 cup sugar (regular type)
 2 eggs
 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
 2 cups oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned Quaker Oats)
 2 tsp. cinnamon, halved
 1 tsp. baking soda
 1/2 tsp. salt
 1 Tablespoon sugar

 In large bowl, beat together margarine, brown sugar, and 3/4 cup of the
 regular sugar, 'til light and fluffy.  Add eggs; mix well.

 In another bowl, combine flour, oats, 1 tsp. cinnamon, soda, & salt.  Add
 to sugar mixture; mix well.

 Drop by scant 1/4 cup measure onto a cookie sheet.

 In a small bowl, combine remaining 1 Tablespoon of sugar and 1 tsp. of
 cinnamon.  Sprinkle lightly over each cookie.

 Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees.  Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie
 sheet.
