                       Poor man's Gravy
           3 tablespoons butter or margarine
           3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
           2 cups milk
           salt and pepper (I sometimes use garlic salt)
   Melt butter stir in flour. Cook over low heat stirring constantly
   until flour is dark brown.. Gradually stir in milk and cook over low
   heat, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and thickened.
   Season to taste with salt and pepper.Serve spooned over new potatoes
   cooked in their jackets. Makes 2 cups. You could add pork sausage
   that you browned first and serve over biscuits.
