   Sugar Cookies These are good christmas cookies. Make a double batch,
   they go fast

 4 cups flour
 3 tsp. baking powder
 1 tsp. nutmeg
 1 cup shortening
 2 cups sugar
 4 eggs, well beaten
 2 tsp vanilla
 2 Tablesp.milk
1/2 tsp. salt
     Mix dry ingredients together except for sugar.
 Cream shortening sugar and vanilla and milk; add beaten eggs. Combine
 both mixtures in a large bowl.
 Chill overnight. (important)
Keep in fridge and roll out a portion at a time. Roll dough as thin as
possible as these cookies will rise.Cut with cutters. Bake at 425
degrees for 7 minutes. Makes  6 dozen cookies.
 Frost with buttercream frosting when cooled.
 Frosting
 6 tablespoons butter              1/4 cup (approx) light cream or milk
 1 (1lb) pkg. confectioners sugar  1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

 Cream butter, gradually add about half the sugar. Beat in 2 tablespoons
 cream or milk and vanilla. Blend remaining sugar. Add enough additional
 cream to desired spreading consistency. Can add food coloring for a
 festive look.
