           Hershey's Great American Chocolate Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

2 1/4 C. all purpose flour   1 t. vanilla extract
1 t. baking soda             2 eggs
1/2 t. salt                  2 C. (12-oz. Package) Hershey's
1 C. (2 sticks) butter         semi sweet chocolate chips
     softened
3/4 C. granulated sugar      1 C. chopped nuts (optional)
3/4 C. packed light brown
       sugar

     Heat oven to 375 degrees. In bowl sift together flour, soda and
salt. In a large mixer bowl beat together butter, sugar, brown sugar
and vanilla; until creamy. Add eggs; and beat well. Gradually add flour
mixture beating well. Stir in chips and nuts (if desired). drop by rounded
teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly
browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool
completely. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
