Season with salt and pepper and blend in beaten egg. Combine flour and cornstarch and sprinkle over chicken pieces to form a thick paste. Heat oil in wok or skillet and deep-fry chicken pieces a few at a time until golden and cooked through. Drain and keep warm in oven until all chicken pieces have been fried.
