Country Apple Squares
2 C flour
1 C brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 C butter or marg.
1 C walnuts, chopped
1  8-oz package cream cheese,
  softened
2 tbsp. milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 C sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 C chopped, peeled
  apples

Combine flour, brown sugar and cinnamon.  Cut in butter to resemble
coarse crumbs.  Add nuts.  Measure out 2 cups crumb mix and set aside.  Press
remaining mix in 9" x 13" pan.  Beat cream cheese and milk until smooth.  Add
egg, sugar and vanilla.  Pour over crumb mixture.  Top with apples.  sprinkle
with reserved crumbs and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
