=========================================================================== BBS: The GWE BBS [ASV/CIN] Date: 01-27-94 (21:21) Number: 375 From: KOUNTRY COOK #1 @1912232* Refer#: NONE To: ALL Recvd: NO Subj: Ham a la King Conf: (37) Home Cooki --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.07 Title: Ham a la King Categories: Meats Servings: 4 4 tb Unsalted butter (1/2 stick) 1 x Fresh ground pepper to taste 1 c Small mushrooms, sliced 3/4 c Grated Swiss cheese 1/2 c Chopped green pepper (no 2 c Fully cooked, smoked ham, Seeds or white ribs) In 1/2 inch cubes 2 tb Flour 2 tb Chopped pimiento 1 c Milk 1 x Salt (optional) 1/2 c Half-and-Half 4 ea Patty shells, baked to pkg. 1/4 ts Nutmeg Directions (Pepperidge Farm) In a frying pan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add the mushrooms and green pepper and cook for 3 minutes or until the pepper is crisp-tender. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the remaining butter, add the flour, stirring and cooking into a smooth paste. Gradually add the milk and half-and-half, stirring into a smooth, medium-thick sauce. Stir in the nutmeg and black pepper. Add the cheese and stir until melted. Blend with the mushroom mixture and ham and cook for 2 minutes or until heated through. Stir in the pimiento. Taste for seasoning, adding salt if the ham has not supplied enough.
