One of the best things about my parents' refrigerator is the pitcher of iced
tea that seems to miraculously replenish itself.  It's the best tea I've ever
had, and I'm a tea lover from way back!

While my parents don't commute 500 miles to keep MY pitcher full, I have
learned to do it myself:

THE VONS' ICED TEA

Steep 100 tea bags in 1/2-gallon of boiling water.

allow to cool to room temperature, then add:

14 packets Sweet & Low
2 - 3 tbsp sugar
1/2 gallon cold water

refrigerate.

This is very low-calorie, and I think it's very good.  I tried using "Equal"
and it wasn't the same at all.  The Sweet & Low is a little tarter, and keeps
it from being syrupy-sweet.  The sugar takes the edge off.  Anyway, if you're
a cold tea lover, you might give it a try.  I'd like to know how you like it!
