Peach Treat
2 C fresh peaches, sliced
1 1/4 C sugar, divided
2/3 stick butter or margarine
3/4 C flour
3/4 C milk
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch salt

Mix peaches with 3/4 C sugar.  Set aside.  Put butter in a deep baking dish
and set in 350 degree oven to melt.  Combine 1/2 cup sugar and remaining
ingredients to make batter.  Remove pan with melted butter from oven.  Pour
in batter.  Do not stir.  Top with peaches.  Do not stir.  Batter will rise.
Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.  Serve warm or cold.
