MESSIAH3 TILE SET by Steve & Charlotte Massey-Crouch All of the symbols in the Messiah3 tile set are authentic Christian symbols found from a variety of sources. Some of the tiles, however, are combinations of one or more symbols which we put together to add beauty to the set. We decided to try something different with the Messiah3 set. We wanted to tone things down a little for those individuals who like things simple. Our first two tile sets, Messiah and Messiah2, splash color across the screen when you first invoke Mah Jongg. If you are not prepared for it, this can be overpowering. Messiah3 eliminates this effect because of its limited range of colors. For an interesting experiment, try using the "swap colors" command in Tilemaker to change the cyan centers of the tiles to another color. Black and light grey, for instance, change the whole effect of the tiles. Following is a brief description of each tile: 1. The Heavenly Father's All Seeing Eye--a symbol of the Father's omniscience. 2. The stork symbolizes chastity, prudence, and vigilance. 3. The candlestick represents Christ as the "Light of the World." 4. Fleur De Lis. 5. Christ on the cross. 6. Christ pours out His life to fill ours. 7. Cup and cross stand for the bitterness of Jesus' suffering in Gethsemane and on the cross. 8. Cross Mascly. 9. Christ's triumph over the world. 10. CHI RHO monogram. 11. Saint Andrew's cross with small Latin cross underneath. 12. Jerusalem cross. Sometimes called the Crusader's cross. 13. Processional cross. 14. Budded cross. 15. The Eastern cross. 16. The Cross Barbee. 17. Crux Ansata. 18. The Cross Crosslet is a representation of Christianity spreading in the four directions. 19. The three Crosses of Calvary. 20. Jesus' monogram. 21-26. Variations of the CHI RHO. The ancient monogram of Christ. 27. Papal cross. 28. Celtic cross, or Irish cross. The center circle signifies eternity. 29. The cross and triangle represent Jesus in unity with the Trinity. 30. Alpha and Omega. Jesus is the beginning and the end. 31-34. The gospel will be taken to the four corners of the Earth. 35-38. Latin cross. 39-42. Ordinary cross. *************** We present this set for your playing enjoyment and hope you enjoy using it. Special thanks to Nels Anderson for giving us a vehicle to express our creativity.
