---===============--- DoomView v1.1 ---===============--- Designed and programmed by Michael Swanson (C) 1994 Anyware. All rights reserved. DoomView is a utility I wrote to learn about the Doom WAD file and its related structures. Version 1.0 of this utility was written in Microsoft QuickBASIC, and this version is written in Borland C++ and assembly language. It isn't as fast as I'd like it to be, but it will get better. I hope to develop this into a fully functional graphics editor in the future. Because I haven't received my registered version of Doom yet, I have only had the opportunity to test this program with the shareware versions 1.0 and 1.1. Also, because I don't know how to detect the registered WAD file yet, and id is respectfully asking that no editors work with the shareware version, this version of DoomView will not allow any editing. Other than that, you can view any picture in the Doom WAD file. DoomView must be run from the directory containing the Doom WAD file (usually C:\DOOM). Of course, you have to have a VGA card and a 386 or better machine to use this utility (same requirements as the game). Once in the program, you can use any of the cursor control keys to move through the pictures (including PgUp, PgDn, Home, End). Also, to toggle between picture viewing and floor/ceiling texture viewing, press the Spacebar or Enter key. Let me know if you have any problems or suggestions regarding DoomView, and watch for a full-featured editor for the registered version of Doom sometime in the near future. Have fun!
