ABOUT THE PROGRAM Runner's Calculator is a freeware utility for Windows 3.1. The program is designed to calculate running pace, distance, or time from any of two of the three. It is handy for determining what type of pace a runner would have to sustain in a road race to meet a certain time. It is also handy to determine your pace in races or training or in estimating distances for training runs at a certain pace. The program includes an extensive on-line help system which will be updated on a monthly basis with topics on racing, training, nutrition, sports injuries, and more. The help system can be accessed through the program OR by using WINHELP directly. INSTALLATION To Install: Due to the small size of the program it does not came with an installation package, however installation is not difficult. Copying Files to hard Disk 1. Using File Manager or DOS create a directory where you would like to put the runner's calculator. If you do not wish to create a directory, the program can be placed directly in the WINDOWS directory. 2. Copy the files runcalc.exe and runcalc.hlp into this directory. 3. If you do not already the VBRUN300.DLL in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory, then copy this file into that directory. Creating the Progman Icon 4. Open the program group where you would like to place the Runner's Calculator icon. 5. Using program manager select File, New from the pull-down menu. Ensure that Program Item is selected and click the OK button. 6. Fill in the following items (this example assumes that the program files were copied to the WINDOWS directory on the C Drive). Also very handy is the help system. This help system is updated on a monthly basis with information for runners (and other athletes). As a runner I am always interested in information about running. This program allows me to keep track of various courses by name, the distance of these courses, which course I ran on a particular day, and the time and conditions of that daily run.
