This is a little general-purpose file viewer I
put together in an hour or so with MicroHelp's
VBViewer control.

To run, just be sure that GENVIEW.EXE and the DV*
DLL's are on the path (in the current directory is
OK). You must also have VBRUN300.DLL on the path:
I didn't include that in the ZIP file since it is
widely distributed.

It will display data in text and many word
processor, spreadsheet and graphic formats.
It will play a .WAV file, but ignore the
message about pressing the PLAY button: the
message comes out of VBVIEW and I haven't
found how to implement the play button yet.

Occasionally I have know it to lock up when
given an unknown format, but usually it just
show the data in hex.

You display files by dragging the file name from
File Manager or your other desktop shell (I
use PC Tools). WP files are shown as text only.
You can do a FIND in text. Very handy for
browsing logs of BBS sessions.

THe only thing I wish the VBViewer control
would do is allow selecting and copying to
the Clipboard, but it doesn't, so...

This is freeware, and I have no responsibility
for anything it does, etc etc. I may enhance it
sometime with file selection dialog, printing,
etc., but for now it's just a quick viewer.
