WinZip(R) version 5.0b Copyright (C) 1991-1993 Nico Mak Computing, Inc. All Rights Reserved The following is a list of changes in WinZip 5.0b. For a list of changes in earlier versions see the section titled "Version History" in the online help. Changes in WinZip 5.0b - Workaround for an apparent bug in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 which caused WinZip to issue the message "could not create output file" when creating a ZIP with the "temporary working directory" feature enabled. With 32-bit File Access enabled the DOS rename function (interrupt 21 function 56) no longer returns the ERROR_NOT_SAME_DEVICE (11H) error code documented in the "Microsoft MS-DOS Programmer's Reference" manual when the old and new filenames are not on the same device. To circumvent this problem WinZip no longer relies on the error code from the DOS rename function. - The CheckOut feature will not delete files that are "in use" by Windows. You will get an error message if you ask WinZip to delete the CheckOut directory but have not closed one or more applications in the CheckOut group. - WinZip once again supports ARJ version 2.3. WinZip 5.0a issued an error message if you tried to use ARJ 2.3. Note that the current version of ARJ is v2.41. - Fix to avoid a buffer overflow error after 20+ archives were dropped on WinZip without performing any other WinZip operation. - Trailing blanks are now always stripped from directory names in case of user input errors. ###
