VITRON's POPIT INVOICE AND BILLING SYSTEM
                         RELEASE 2.20 NOTES & FEATURES

                     FOR USERS OF VERSION 1.x OF THE SYSTEM

    This release of the PopIt Invoice and Billing System contains new file
    structures for all of the master files used in the system. It is for
    this reason that this automated Install program creates a new directory
    on your hard drive -- \VMCINVR -- where the "R" means "Registered."

    Page 3 of the User Manual indicates that the install procedure uses
    and/or creates the \VMCINV directory. For the Registered version of
    the system, this is NO LONGER the case. As we indicated above, the
    Install procedure for the registered version creates the \VMCINVR
    directory.

    If you are using any 1.x version of the system and you already have data
    in the files that you want to keep, you should run the CONVERT program
    after you complete the installation. CONVERT.EXE will be located in the
    \VMCINVR directory.

    This CONVERT program will transfer all of your current data from the old
    file structures used in release 1.x of the system to the new file struc-
    tures used by version 2.x of the system.

    DO NOT COPY ANY OF THE FILES USED IN VERSION 1.x OF THE SYSTEM TO THE
    NEW DIRECTORY USED BY VERSION 2.x OF THE SYSTEM! RUN CONVERT INSTEAD!

    DO NOT USE THE \VMCINV DIRECTORY AS YOUR TARGET DIRECTORY IF YOU HAVE
    DATA IN THE MASTER FILES THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP AND TRANSFER OVER TO THE
    NEW VERSION OF THE SYSTEM!

    YOU MUST USE THE NEW FILE STRUCTURES IN THE REGISTERED VERSION OF THE
    SYSTEM, OTHERWISE THE PROGRAM WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY!

    To run CONVERT, at your DOS prompt first change to the \VMCINVR
    directory (or to whatever directory you told INSTALL to install the
    system into). Then, at your DOS prompt, type: CONVERT and press <Enter>.
    Follow the prompts that will be displayed on your screen.

    In addition, version 2.x contains all new UTILity files, which will not
    have any impact on your current data, but must be used by version 2.x of
    the system.
