We are not trying to be "rule crazy", we just want to avoid any misunderstandings. 1. All Hubs and Nodes must carry the following conferences: Net Administration Your Comments Catch All 2. Regional Hubs carry ALL conferences. Hubs carry all mandatory conferences plus all conferences requested by their Hub/Nodes. Nodes must carry ALL mandatory conferences. 3. Either the Sysop or Co-Sysop must read the Admin conference on a daily basis, and respond to all Admin messages requiring a reply. Also, Sysops should check all Admin messages with the Subject: "Warning". These are c.c. of the warnings sent in the conference where the violation took place and are posted in Net Admin for your info. If the user in question posts from your BBS you should, of course, consult with them before the problem gets any worse. If the person has any "special" problems that could be considered a "mitigating circumstance" both the Moderator and the Net Administrator should be notified by "private" message in the Net Admin conference. After consulting with the Moderator on the matter the Net Administrator will make the final decision. 4. Co-Sysop is definded as any person with the authority and access needed to act on the Sysop's behalf in administrative matters. 5. The "Net Administration" conference must be restricted to O'N'E Net Sysop(s), Co-Sysops (as definded above), and O'N'E conference Moderators. NO ONE else is to have access. 6. Once you have been notified by your "Hub" that you are uploading "Dupes" and/or "Cross post", you must find the source. If your software setup is at fault you must fix it. If one of your down links is sending them to you, you must in turn notify them. If the problem persists, the source board may be temporarily removed from the net. 7. Since net access goes hand in hand with BBS access, members of O'N'E Net are NOT allowed to block or deny access based on Race, Age, Gender, Religion, Occupation, Etc. 8. User access to O'N'E Net must be free of any charge or fee. 9. A Hub may charge Nodes in the same "Local" calling area, provided they give each Node a copy of their L/D phone bill and use the following formula: L/D cost divided by the Number of Nodes + 1 i.e. If you had 4 Nodes in your local calling area and your monthly L/D was $ 15.00 that would be $ 15 / 5 = $ 3.00 per Node. 10. Only Regional Hubs may poll the Net Host, except in the following few cases: A. You are or will be polling one of the other net we carry. B. You are in the Dayton, Oh local calling area and can call outside the normal net mail times. 11. ALL hubs must poll for mail everyday and be in operation 24 hrs. a day seven days a week, except for mail and maintenance. Nodes must poll at least three (3) times a week. 12. ALL Hubs must be using registered BBS software. Nodes must be using registered BBS software within 30 days if joining the net. 13. Sysops must comply with ALL administrative request/instructions as quickly as possible. 14. No illegal activities will be tolerated and all BBSs are expected to comply with all applicable Local, State and Federal Laws. 15. File Attachments are not permitted, if possible O'N'E conferences should be setup to block the use of "aliases". All O'N'E Net conferences should be set to allow "private" post. 16. Hubs may give temporary approval of applications, but net status MUST be withheld until the new Hub or Node has been approved by the Net Administrator. New Sysops wish to speed up the approval process, may upload their application to the Main Hub, but a copy must still be posted with their intended Hub in Net Admin. 17. The Net Users Rules must be readily available to your users. This file is called NETUSERS.TXT. This can be done as a Bulletin, and there are ANSI copies included in this archive. (.ANS .PCB .BBS) 18. Tagline lines must be as follows: O'N'E Net/ST: Your BBS * City * Phone # * Level ST = Your State (2 letters) Your BBS = Name of your BBS Phone # = Your BBS phone number Level = Net level assigned to you. i.e. Regional Hub, Hub, or Node 19. The net will not have Hubs below the third level. An exception to this rule would be if a level 4 Node wants to hub to other boards in the same local dialing area. This exception can only be granted by the Net Administrator and the Node must meet ALL of the requirement of a level 3 Hub. (See NETSTRUC.TXT) 20. All of the above is subject to change. 21. The Net Administrator has the final say on everything. (c)IDM,1994
