RemoteRetrieve(tm) Version 1.01 - Remote file retrieval software Copyright (c) 1993, 1994 by Outpost Software Personal Online Software & Telecommunications. 642 San Miguel Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 */ */ Voice (408) 736-1070, Fax (408) 736-2263 BBS (408) 736-1077 (requires RemoteRetrieve software) Inexpensive solution to remote file access RemoteRetrieve offers the inexpensive solution to retrieving files from your home or office computer, even when you're miles away. Features It eliminates the hassle of modem transfers with its preset modem configurations and preprogrammed high speed protocol. The split window interface (showing local and remote directories and files side by side) makes transferring files effortless. The split-screen file manager can also be used to move, copy, delete, and rename files on the local computer. Bonus features A unique file descriptor allows users to attach a description of up to 80 characters to each file in order to facilitate immediate file recognition. The voice to data feature permits conversion from speaking on the phone to file transfer (or vice versa). Another convenient feature is the remote file viewer which allows previewing files before transferring them. Running under Windows RemoteRetrieve will run as a DOS application under Windows. It can also be set to run in background, thus freeing up the Host computer for others to use. Registration If you use this program, please register it. See the accompanying order form ORDER.TXT. My high speed modem running RemoteRetrieve is unable to connect to an older 2400 baud modem running the RemoteRetrieve host program. A. Some older 2400 baud modems do not recognize the error- correcting features of 14,400 baud modems. You will need to disable the error-correcting feature on the high speed modem. Refer to your modem manual. The US Robotics Sportster recommends AT&M0 and some Intel modems use AT\N0 to disable error-correcting.
