Well, here is the 06/94 Version of the Genesis Hints, Tips, and Tricks list! I have been trying to find some new stuff to add this month, but it has been SLIM pickings. Not much new out to add to the list. This gave me additional time to work on the SCDXXYY.TXT file and update the Sega CD Section of the list. The SCDXXYY file has had a total overhaul and is over twice the size of the last issue. I am aware however that many codes still are out there for the Sega CD System and I will be working on adding them to the list. In a few days or by the time you read this Virtua Racing should be out for Genesis. I was all ready to place my pre-order for the game when I fell over because of a SERIOUS case of STICKER SHOCK! Because of the cost of the SVP chip, the game's set retail price will be $99.99. Yes, you heard right! Sega knows that this is going to be a problem and they have futher said that the cartridge will be out in limited quantity at first. Expect to see a shortage of these cartridges for awhile. Although, it is a good game and I really liked the arcade version, I have a REAL problem paying $99.99 for one game, when I only payed $129 for my Genesis. Most of the reviews of the game have been very positive and I would suggest renting it if possible, before you plunk down your hard earned jack for this one. (By the way, I am still not sure if I will buy it or not.... If I can find it for $70 or less, new or used I most likely will pick it up. I am a RACING FAN, what can I say ) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Big Tip Of The Month for NHL '94 Hockey and John Madden Football '94 fans! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brady Books (A Computer Oriented Book Publisher for the Most Part) has released two new Corey Sandler Books. The First one is called Inside NHL '94 and the second is called Inside Madden NFL '94. Both are Offical Authorized EA Sports Offical Guide Books! They are hand to find, but well worth the $12.95 price if you can find them. Since, we spend a lot of our free time playing these great games I picked them up. Both books are solid, well written, very in depth, and quite good. They both cover Sega Genesis, Super NES, and the IBM PC Versions of the games. These books are FAR more in depth than the manuals that come with the games. If you would like to pick up a copy of these books here is some additional information: Inside NHL '94 - By Corey Sandler ISBN # 1-56686-113-6 Inside Madden NFL '94 - By Corey Sandler ISBN # 1-56686-114-4 I had to order mine direct from Brady Books at: Brady Books 201 West 103rd Street Indianapolis, IN 46290 They also have an in depth book on Mortal Combat, which I didn't order since, I am not a Mortal Combat Fan. If you drop a note to the above address they will send you a catalog. You can then order all of these books direct. If you drop by your local book store and give them the above ISBN number they also might be able to Special Order them for you. I have been getting a lot of EMAIL as of late asking if I knew anything about the new Sega Star Trek The Next Generation Game. I brought this one the day that it came out. I am still stuck in the mines. I broke down and called Sega and they said they had a map that they would send out in the mail to me. This was about two weeks ago and I still have not gotten it yet. The Tech assured me that there were no codes or ways to skip levels. (How many times have I heard this!) At the present time, all I can suggest is that you call Sega and ask them to send you the map. The clues that are in the phone maze are pretty much worthless, but they do give you the location of the star bases, if you have having trouble finding those. Please make sure that from now on the version of the GENXXYY.ZIP file you are getting has an AV on it. People are stripping off my name and placing other names on this list and claiming it. Please continue to look for this list on PC-Ohio, it is where I upload it first. Check the WHATSNEW.TXT file for information on the newest games added to the list. (Remember, if it is in the WHATSNEW.TXT file it could be either a REVISION or A NEW LISTING.) Enjoy!! -- See you at the Indy Car Races at Cleveland and Mid-Ohio! ds P.S. - I would like to pass along my Congrads to Al Unser Jr. of Team Penske for wining his second Indy 500. I knew a Penske car would win this year and I am glad it was Al Jr.'s!
