VK2SG RTTY DX Notes for week ending 15 July 1994 (BID RTDX0715)
 
I'm informed and with regret report a sad note.  Rosario, I8AA passed
away on Wednesday, July 13.  Ros was known and loved by many hams
worldwide.  He will deeply missed, may he be ever blessed for all his
good work.
 
As this is my first bulletin after quite sometime please let me thank
Bob, WB2CJL, who has assisted me scouting news and notes.  Other two
greetings are addressed to Syd, VK2SG for a prompt get well and the
last to Jules, W2JGR for a prompt get back on the air after he took a
lightning hit.
 
Dont forget the DARC RTTY contest which will take place this weekend
Saturday 16 from 1000-1600z and Sunday 17th from 1400- 2000z.

Notes of Interest:
 
TROMELIN, FR5ZU/T.  Jacques did show up on Friday 8 on SSB and on
Saturday 9 started RTTY, which has been the first time from this rare
place.  He will leave the island on 1st August.
 
KERGUELEN, FT5XJ.  Another rare one on RTTY did show up on the air.
Pierre will be going QRT shortly for a rest period of 3 months and
then return.
 
AVES ISLAND, YV0.  The group of YV guys will visit this rare island in
occasion of 60 years of Venezuelan Radioclub.  The operation will
start on July 21 until 25.  They will be active on all bands
SSB/CW/digital except WARC bands as YW0RCV.  QSL via Pasquale, YV5AJ.
Look for them as it could be difficult for some time to get Aves Is.
on the air.
 
ALBANIA, ZA.  Mike ZA1MH is very active on all bands including 160.
Mike is as American missionary on Balkan pennisulla.  His home call is
K5KWG but he wants QSL direct to ZA.  His wife is also active as
ZA1EH.
 
BARBADOS, 8P.  Look for Mark, former call J5UAI active now as 8P9HB on
all modes including RTTY.
