Just a little cleaner code, trapped a couple runtime errors that I missed and a few cosmetic changes to go with it.. Zbase 2.02 10/01/94 ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) If your wondering why so many updates so fast? I recently got sick with the Chicken Pocks and have had all sorts of time off from work.. This is probably the last update for a while, work again tomorrow :( 2.) Well I added cursor ability for the remote users to use the Arrow keys, now they don't have to use their keypad. This function also works in local mode. 3.) Some changes to the menu command selections to incorporate the new cursor control. 4.) Fixed a screen selection bug with the Sysop menu, selection 1 showed as selection 2. 5.) Fixed a small problem with the add new record selection, users that pushed 'N' would still go to the add records menu. 6.) Also fixed the Invisible Ansi screen bug :) If you added an Ansi screen in local mode and the Ansi file was already in the directory Ansidata then the file would be overwritten, fixed.. 7.) Some minor cosmetic changes. Zbase 2.01 09/29/94 ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.) * Added a nice feature * Users may now upload a full screen Ansi advertisement for their BBS. The uploaded advertisement will go directly into a database upon a successful upload.. Users are asked if they would like to upload an Ansi screen when they add a BBS entry.. Duplicate file checking will prevent any file duplications upon upload. Door users may now View the full screen adds from the BBS List menu, plus optional data about the BBS is also available. All Ansi files are put into a Sub-directory of the default Zbase directory called ANSIDATA. The directory will be made if it does not exist.. 2.) Fixed a small problem with the download protocol's. added a new SERIAL parameter in the Zbase.ctl file for the fix. The use of a download batch file is now necessarry, requires editing only for locked baud rates.. 3.) Forgot to add safeguards for deleting flag file during dropped carrier's and time-out's, fixed.. 4.) Did away with ASC in the door, not really that popular and more hastle then it's worth, Ansi/RIP only now.. 5.) Fixed a small problem with the sysop drop to DOS function.. 6.) Added the logging of the downloads to the Zbase.log, DSZ style log. Downloads are controlled by the CEXZY.BAT file now, and must not be edited except to force an option. 7.) Code size cut down dramatically, Zbase.exe file smaller now.. But now with the added feature (below) there is another EXE file called ansibase.exe. 8.) Had to add another sysop Menu for the Ansi database, accessed from the Maintenace menu. Color changes to both Menus, got tired of the old colors :) Zbase 2.0 09/25/94 --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Many Changes! With the addition of X-tra lines on my BBS and the use of Non-Standard Com Ports and high speed modems, I've changed serial routines for Zbase.. Now supports Fossil routines and locked baud rates up to 115,200. Non Standard IRQ's or/and addresses, Com Ports 1-4.. 2.) New Ansi Screens for the most part, also with cursor control.. 3.) Addition of Configurable Ansi Screens, you may now make your own screens if you don't like the new ones, RIP are hard-Coded.. 4.) Added New Feature, There is a display of a BBS add at the beginning where user's can put their add in for Advertisement.. The add stay's there till the next user makes his own.. 5.) Mostly alot of small changes internally and little bugs squashed.. Zbase 1.95 5/27/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Thanks to Zack Jones of Zack's Shack BBS, found a new bug in the RIP View command, didn't work without any external list's defined, first person to not use the external list's I guess? 2.) That's all for now, working on external protocol routines for next release, will be getting rid of GSZ soon, and incorporating internal routines. Zbase 1.94 4/16/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Fixed the duplicate logfile entries 2.) Fixed sysop entry in the database, was displaying software name. Zbase 1.93 4/03/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Fixed Problem with Zbase.txt file displaying just the Header file and no BBS's during door use, was only a problem when downloading. 2.) Added Xtra help for Wildcat sysops. 3.) New Installation program to fix Wildcat Sysop's problem 4.) Updated manual. 5.) Now creates a log file of door use. 6.) CodeSize reduced and Zbase.exe file is smaller and faster now. Zbase 1.92 2/28/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Added A new feature for Registered users, you can now make your own header file for your Database Listing! The file is called header.txt, you design the one you like and put it in the Zbase directory, that's it, Zbase will do the rest. 2.) Added enhanced edit functions, save function for previous entries, and new screens. You no longer have to add all the information in again. 3.) Fixed Editor bug, when you went to edit a record the very last record in the database was lost. Didn't even see this till I was working on other functions, no-one complined about this one? 4.) Re-designed the Registered user key program, if you have a prior key and Zbase release, then you need this version and a new key file! 5.) Made big changes with code, reduced code size and speeded up many of the routines, starts up much faster now, and runs faster. Zbase 1.91 2/22/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Added New Communication routines, now Windows, OS/2 and Desqview aware will give up valuable time slices.. 2.) Bug fixes with some display problems.. 3.) Fixed a nasty bug that would prevent RIP graphics from displaying and end with a runtime error, missed this one all this time, fixed! Zbase 1.9 2/14/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) More internal error checking added. 2.) By popular demand I disabled the start-up delay for Non-Registered Sysops. I did however have to leave something out to keep us all honest :( . The database will allow only 20 records until the program is registered, when registered the full 250 records will be activated. Zbase 1.8 2/7/94 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Wouldn't you know it a bad compile on the last compile before sending the program out! This is just a fix, now it will run!! Zbase 1.7 2/2/94 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) FIRST PUBLIC RELEASE OF ZBASE. All beta testers may now put the Zbase17.ZIP available for download on your BBS! I hope the work will pay off, many long hours have gone into this program, my wife is starving for attention :) 2.) Man has the code size grown! Not the little program that it once was when I first started. There are almost 5000 lines of code written in Turbo Pascal for this program. There are quite a few changes to the program in this version, well worth the upgrade if you have been beta testing. I'm considering compiling a protected mode version if the need arises.. 3.) There is now an edit function for the callers. Zbase will now detect whether a caller has entered the BBS in the list and then let the user edit his entry. The list will display in short form if the user wishes to view. 4.) New Install program now for configuring your Zbase.cfg file! 5.) Touched up Ansi and RIP screens. New Data Entry screen for adding records. I think you'll like the changes! 6.) There was a problem with the delete function in the sysop menu. If you deleted a record the record would not always delete, should work just fine now. 7.) Another function for the sysop, a Truncate option, truncates the last Custom Menu Selection. 8.) There was a problem with the downloading, if a user viewed a BBS list then went to download the list, the download would halt, fixed.. 9.) If your a Registered user, your BBS Name will be displayed along with the Date List was compiled in the text file available for download in the Zbase directory. 10.) Added Un-Registered delay at startup :( There are NO crippled functions in this program only an UN-Registered delay.. Brad Larned The Forbidden Zone BBS BBS: 209-276-3657 Fido: 1:205/65
