Version: 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001á0.0000001 This version was REALLY bad, the colors were messed up (real dull and such). I only told about half as much info as I shoulda been. But I told as much info as I REALLY needed. Oh yeah, it also was FreeWare. Version: 1.00á0 This one was much better. I brightened the colors, but I still wasn't telling enough info for the people I was letting use the program... (BTW, this was originally started to give to people on my BBS so that I could get info on their system). Version: 1.00á1 Jeez, I don't really remember this one too well, I added a lot more variables. The problem of the prompt returning and overwriting text was still there though :( Version: 1.00á2 Well, I made it so that the 2 windows in the corners were positioning right. (That was just laziness on my part) I got the kink out where the prompt would return and write over some of the info that the program told you. Version: 1.00á3 Ok, here I just added a sorta cool little feature. I made the bottom window look as though it scrolled down instead of letting the screen scroll to put another window up. I changed it so that if DPMI wasn't present, instead of putting a 0 there, it says "Not Present". Looks a little classier I think... Version: 1.00á4 Hmmm, well, this was a minor bug fix. I wanted to spice it up a little bit before I released it to my áeta testers. I put a copyright notice on it and some things like that. The whole thing is still freeware as it doesn't do much of anything special, and I like to do it so it's not hurting me to do it exactly. :) Version: 1.01 First public release. Same as version 1.00á4. Nothing was added or taken away Version: 1.05á1 Back into áeta testing. There were a few thing in 1.01 that could have caused problems on certain set-ups. I also made it so that there was NO way that there could be an error and you not know about it (now I clear the screen and make it bright red on white and tell you as much about the error as I can). Hopefully this one will be ok... :) Version: 1.06á1 I made it so that it can examine other drives from any drive. (ie. You can now examine drive letter G from drive letter C). Version: 1.07á1 I finally added the thing that makes it so that unless this program is run on a system with 4DOS version 5.5 or higher, the program won't run. Version: 2.00á1 I created an algorithm that will detect and analyze all physical and network drives on your system. Hopefully this one worx on network drives. That part was hard as anything to make which is why I made this one step up to 2.00á1. Let's hope I can make this an official release! :) Version: 2.05á1 This version was about as buggy as could be. I added CD-Rom detection and misc. things. It also detects to see wether or not it is a physical/netword drive. I also finally added the /NoPress parameter so that you can run it with out having to press a key. I also made it so that if you put /NoPress on the command-line, you could also specify, as a second parameter, a numeric value, which sets how long it will pause. If no value is given then it defaults to 5 seconds. Oh yeah, I also added ready protection. If it tries to examine a disk that isn't ready or isn't there, then it will simply report 'Drive not ready or not present'. That's all for this version! Version: 2.06á1 Fixed bugs from previous version. I added boot drive detection. If it is a boot drive, you are now told so. I also added low space detection. If there is less then 2 megabytes free on the drive being examined then you are given a warning message. Version: 2.5 Decided to stop releasing beta releases. Version were coming out too quick. I added in key detection because this version was the first shareware version. Version: 3.00a Took out key detection. Changed how things looked on the screen. I basically made this one look 'spiffy'. The program has gone to donationware. (Read the .DOC's if you wish to donate :) Version: 3.00b There was a slight bug with revision a. Fixed it's auto-detecting of drives which was messed up in the 3.00a version. Version: 3.00c Added remote, network, or physical drive detection. Fixed a minor bug. Version: 3.01a Improved speed dramatically. I stopped making the program re-draw the screen every time it changed the bottom window. It now just redraws that window which is MUCH faster. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Note from the author -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I really like writing this program. It helps me out when I'm trying to help other people out. It tells a great deal about their system to me. I have NO plans of stopping the releases of this program. I will update it as much as possible and could REALLY use any suggestions as to what I could add to make the program better. Later, Matt Walters
