DESCRIPTION
The caret is a blinking symbol located in a window. It usually shows
the location where the next text will be inserted.  The caret is
typically an underline, a vertical line or a block.  In Windows,
there is only one caret for the whole system.  When a program sets
the blink rate, that rate will stay in effect until another program
resets it.  Unfortunately, this means that the caret is often not
blinking at the rate you would like.  It is particularly difficult
to cause the caret to not blink at all.

Mr. Caret allows you to set the caret blinkrate to any speed you like.
Or you may set the caret to not blink at all.  Mr. Caret keeps track
of the blinkrate to ensure that no program changes the blinkrate to
something else.

Mr. Caret does NOT change the default blinkrate which is set from the
Control Panel and is stored in WIN.INI.  When Mr. Caret is disabled or
not running, the blink rate reverts to this system default.

Mr. Caret is only $8. It is not crippled in any way.



INSTALLATION

Copy the files:
 MRCARET.EXE
 MRCARET.HLP
to any directory you like.  The other files are optional and may be
deleted.  However, you might like to save README.TXT (this file) and/or
ORDER.TXT for future reference.  Mr. Caret may be started by running
MRCARET.EXE or by choosing MRCARET.EXE from the File Manager.  Or
Mr. Caret may be added as an icon to a Program Manager group. In
Program Manager, click the "File" menu option, then "New", then select
"Program Item" and enter MRCARET.EXE with its full path as the new
item.  If you have a "Startup" group, adding Mr. Caret there will
cause it to run every time Windows starts up.



LICENSE

This program is shareware.  You may evaluate it for no more than
30 days.  After this time, you must either register Mr. Caret or
remove it from your system.  Failure to comply with this condition is
a violation of U.S. and international copyright law.



REGISTRATION

Mr. Caret is only $8 and may be registered by mail.  Upon receipt
of your payment, you will be supplied with a "Validation Code".
This code is entered into the program along with the "Registration Name"
of your choice.  The "Registration Name" and "Validation Code" are entered
by selecting "Register" from the configuration-panel's main menu.

The order form is available by:
1) Selecting Help on the configuration-panel's menu and selecting
   "Order Form"
2) Printing file ORDER.TXT
If you do not have a printer, be sure to include all of the
information requested in the order form with your check or money order.



DISTRIBUTION

You may freely (in fact, you are encouraged to) copy and distribute
copies of the archive file as MCARET10.ZIP so long as:
1) no files are added or deleted from the archive
2) no files in the archive are altered
