This set of tiles is based of the novels of Sir Henry Rider Haggard, better
known to the reading public as H.Rider Haggard.  Few writers fo the nineteenth
century were as successful in creating a mythical, fantasy location.  His
writing of the locale of Africa is based on personal experience since he lived
and worked there for many years. The novels won praise of authors from
Robert Louis Stevenson to George Orwell. His most famous titles from many are
SHE, KING SOLOMON'S MINES, and ALLAN QUATERMAIN.  No, it is not QUARTERMAIN,
that's an all too common error. Question-- why does Hollywood feel that it must
"modernize" every novel that it films?  SHE received a fairly acccurate filming
in silent black and white, all other filmings were NOT SHE!!  KING SOLOMON'S
MINES has never had an accurate filming to my knowledge.
   The novels represented here are SHE, KING SOLOMON'S MINES, ALLAN QUATERMAIN,
WISDOM'S DAUGHTER, SHE AND ALLAN, WHEN THE WORLD SHOOK, AYESHA OR THE RETURN OF
SHE, and THE PEOPLE OF THE MIST.  Forgive my poor attempts at human figures, I
haven't yet solved the problem of drawing them with TILEMAKR.
   The following is a list relating the tiles by number to the various books
without going into a long explanation of each tile.

   THE PEOPLE OF THE MIST and WHEN THE WORLD SHOOK are the only novels mentioned
that do not have to do with SHE in some way.  If this sparks an interest in you,
check your local library for they may have at least SHE, ALLAN QUATERMAIN, or
KING SOLOMON'S MINES or all three.  ENJOY!!
