FREEMENU Ver. 1.0 Copyright 1994 BC ENTERPRISES To INSTALL this program, unzip the file onto a FLOPPY disk, then access that drive and type INSTALL and press [ENTER]. The install program works best from a floppy drive, otherwise you may get an error message. Make sure also that the floppy is not DOS LABELED. Check this by accessing the drive, then type LABEL [ENTER]. It will ask you to replace the label or choose NONE by pressing ENTER. Choose "NONE" by pressing the ENTER key. A quirk I know, but hey, it's free :-) You are perfectly free to give this program away, so long as you do not charge anything for it, otherwise it wouldn't be FREEMENU !!!! Just type FM to begin the menu! (will not work from any directory until you restart your PC) FREEMENU is a very simple DOS menu that allows you to access many of DOS 6's "extras" easily in a colorful atmosphere. You must have ANSI.SYS or similar ANSI program loaded otherwise your screen will be filled with ANSI codes. If you need to install ANSI.SYS, do the following: 1. At your DOS prompt, type EDIT CONFIG.SYS then press [ENTER] 2. Add this line to the end of the file: DEVICE=C:\DOS\ANSI.SYS 3. Save the file (Alt-F-S) then restart your PC. Most of this program operates on batch files, therefore the program requires that it be installed on your hard disk in the C:\FM directory. If you are familiar with batch files, you may tailor the program to your individual needs, but do not alter it and call it your own, and you may do this on YOUR system only. It will add the \FM directory to your PATH as well so you may type FM from anywhere to access the menu. The INSTALL utility will do all this for you easily. This program is provided free to anyone and is given "as is". No warranties of any sort are included and you use it at your own risk. Shareware programs advertised in the program are provided free for your evaluation only for 30 days. After that you must register them or discontinue their use. Please distribute the program on any BBS and give it to all your friends! Enjoy..........................................
