COMdog - The Modem Finder Freeware Version 1.0 Copyright 1995 by Keith Parkansky Internet: keithp@execpc.com CompuServer: 70401,3710 Exec-PC BBS - Milwaukee, WI 414-789-4360 COMdog is a simple freeware utility that sniffs out modems and displays their port numbers. When it finds a responding COM port, it sends an "ATZ" string (modem reset command) and checks to see if an "OK" is returned. OPERATION ========= Just type in COMDOG at the DOS prompt. COMdog will check for all four COM ports and report any modems it finds connected to or configured as those ports. NOTE: This program was tested with a variety of modems and configurations. It will work correctly if the modems are 100% "Hayes-compatible". Most modems are, but some older or proprietary modems may not respond correctly. It will work with all compatible modems with a baud or bps rate of 1200 and above. OTHER SOFTWARE ============== Check out these other programs currently in shareware distribution.
